The San Clemente Tritons football team has made history this season, and coaches say their success was rooted in the players' history. Coach Jon Hamro noted that these players grew up in the sport and grew up playing on the same Pop Warner football team together as well. They made it to the what is known as the Super Bowl of Pop Warner called the Orange Bowl and in 2008, their eighth grade year, they won the game. This season the Triton's record was 12-1 which has led them all the way up the ladder to the CIF championship game. San Clemente will face Santa Margarita in the final on Dec. 10 (this Saturday) at Angel Stadium.

The Last time this team played in the championship game was in 1979, a team on which coach Hamro played. Make the effort to come on out this Saturday to support your community and our local high school team. You could be watching history in the making!
